Veronica Mars was canceled the other year for low ratings. It lasted three seasons only. But while it wasn’t a top rating TV program, it had a humble following of fans that remain believing its cancellation was an injustice, even until today.

The show, starring Kristin Bell, is about a smart and witty high school girl who plays detective. Think Nancy Drew for the new millennium.

EW through Ausiello the other day is reporting that a movie based on this series might be coming into fruition, much to the delight of its solid followers I’m sure. The movie rumor has been going around the mill since its cancellation. And now it seems, there are going to be steps taken to actually do this.

Rob Thomas, the show’s producer tells EW —

“Kristen and I ran into each other, and we did discuss a Veronica movie. It’s very tough to focus on it right now with two pilots on my plate. But as soon as I have any free time, that’s my top priority.”
