Five Reasons to Watch Privileged

Joanna Garcia PrivilegedPrivileged on CW debuted yesterday with a lukewarm response from the critics. I give you five good reasons why you should watch this:

1. JoAnna Garcia - she is a doll. She reminds me of Amy Adams — she’s enormously charming. She gives this show some heart.

2. This show isn’t as dumbed down as it seems. Sure, it’s predictable. Sure, the story isn’t something we’ve already seen. But it does have a few witty lines and smartly written dialogues.

3. The twins - Rose and Baker — their background is a classic story of snooty brats living the privileged life. But you know what, they’re a breath of fresh from all the other snooty brats on CW.

4. Grandmama Laurel, played by Anne Archer. She is the epitome of class. But I wonder what is up her sleeve. Something tells me grandmama is a scheming diva. And that should be interesting!

5. Clothes, houses — all pretty. Of course, that’s one of the reasons we like to watch how rich people live. So we can ogle at the things they have.

Privileged airs Tuesday nights on CW, right after 90210.

Dollhouse Production Shuts Down

Published by Rachel under Primetime Drama Edit This

Eliza Dushku Dollhouse

Joss Whedon has temporarily shut down his new series, Dollhouse, in order to go over the scripts and storylines. The series has wrapped up filming of about three episodes when its creator decided he was not too pleased with the remaining scripts and thus will go over some rewriting. But the time out will only take about two weeks, as production is scheduled to come back on September 25.

Dollhouse still has plenty of time to do the retooling as it is expected to air early next year, as Fox’s mid-season replacement.

The series stars Eliza Dushku whose character is a trained killing machine who has wisen up.
