Are you watching Kath & Kim?
I confess, I’m not too pleased about this new show Molly Shannon is going to headline. If you haven’t heard, Kath & Kim is an adaptation of an Australian TV series and Molly Shannon plays mother to Selma Blair. Their is a really dysfunctional mother-daughter team up. You can probably tell that based on this photo (to the left).
The story is based in Floriday, where, apparently, everything is all nutty over there.
The people behind the show (also the creators of comedies like The King of Queens as well as Dharma and Greg) promises this one to be a female-driven, smart and sophisticated comedy. The Australian original didn’t have a lot of poignant storylines, though and the American version will make sure to emphasize this.
I still am not convinced I’d love this. There is something off about this series and I can’t figure what. Is it that it’s not funny?
