America Ferrera Slams Gossip Girl

America Ferrera Gossip Girl Ugly BettyWhen that video of America Ferrera from Good Day LA made the rounds on the internet last month, I thought that, while it was hilarious, it was just something taken out of context and that people read too much into her body language. Have you seen it? If you haven’t, you can follow it here .

Now US Magazine has an interview with her and this time, the star of Ugly Betty was pretty much vocal about what she thinks of Gossip Girl.

“Close, genuine female relationships are not what generally gets depicted in movies and TV shows.  Like, if you’re watching The Hills or 90210, all the backstabbing shapes the way we act – you go to school, and you think your job is to find a sworn enemy and be jealous of each other. I love Blake [Lively, her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-star]; she’s a wonderful friend of mine, but shows like Gossip Girl kind of condition us to be mean.”

She’s speaking so much like her Betty character, who incidentally, is someone I’m not very fond of. I watch the show, yes, but Betty is my least like person there.

As an actress though, I love her. And as for this statement, I can get where America is coming from. Competition aside (as people will probably say she’s just jealous of the show’s popularity), we can’t deny shows like Gossip Girl does promote the Mean Girl mentality. America is right to voice out her opinion.

Katee Sackhoff stars on Lost and Found

Published by Rachel under TV Gal Pal News Edit This

Katee Sackhoff Lost and Found

NBC does love the Starbuck! Co-starring in NBC’s Bionic Woman last year, the actress has perhaps made quite an impact. Expect to see her on the show Lost and Found soon. The series, produced by Dick Wolf and created by Chris Levinson, will air on NBC.

Sackhoff will play an “offbeat” LAPD cop who is thrown at the office basement, so to speak, to work on John and Jane Doe cases.

The hourlong “Found,” produced by Wolf Films and Universal Media Studios, centers on Tessa (Sackhoff), an unconventional female LAPD detective who, after butting heads with the higher-ups, is sent as a punishment to the basement to work on John Doe and Jane Doe cases.

Hmmmm…the story line isn’t something I’ve heard of just today. It’s so unoriginal. But yes, I’d like to watch Katee in anything other than Battlestar Galactica. I think she’s a cool girl and thus embodies “girl power”.

While Lost and Found is still under production, you can Katee Sackhoff in Nip/Tuck this season, as she is a recurring guest star.
