Ugly Betty’s Manhattan Project
Returning for its third season last Thursday, we found a new and improved Ugly Betty who has made it her mission to get her life in order. To start with, she let go of any romantic entanglements she has by saying no to a marriage proposal by Henry and by turning down Gio’s invite to go to Rome with him.
Betty is going to be good to herself this year. To do all that, she comes up with this idea binder with all of her plans, dreams and aspirations, color coded and categorized according to what fits.
She returns to work and discovers everything has changed. But because she aspires to make better of her situation, Betty embraced all this and in the end earned the respect of her”idiot” colleagues. She also moved out of the family house and bought herself an apartment in New York , using all of her savings. It wasn’t her dream apartment, but Betty is making the most of it.
I am liking this new Ugly Betty a lot. I was prepared to skip the season and just watch it on DVD later, but you know what? I think I’m tuning in weekly again.
