Privileged: All About Friends and Family
My faith is restored!
I have been hoping Privileged kicks off further. Megan’s self-righteous Mary Poppins attitude was starting to bug me and her relationship with the twins was starting to get predictable.
But this week’s episode heightened my interest for the series. I loved that Rose was able to call on Megan by telling her she’s being mean to her sister, Lily.
Megan tries to reconnect with her estranged sister Lily and invites her to the pool party the twins were organizing. For a moment, they had a sisterly moment. But the reunion turns into a full blown drama, when Rose discovers one of her jewelry missing. Megan turns to Lily and accuses her of stealing, in front of everyone at the party.
Without so much proof, Megan came out looking like the bad guy. But as it turns out and we find out later, Lily did take the jewelry and Megan had every right to get mad at her.
The depth and dimension I was looking for for? I saw it in this episode. All it took was to introduce a major conflict. I dare say, it’s probably their best so far.
