The Starter Wife Season 2 Finale
Just finally caught up with the series finale of The Starter wife. The last episode, the 10th for the second season, aired the other week.
The series ends with Molly (Debra Messing) being single again…after dating her writing instructor, Zach, for some months. Their parting was sad but sweet and mature though. Zach was that kind of man threatened by a woman’s success. And with Molly really spreading her wings out with her career, nothing can really stop her.
Joan, one of Molly’s best friends, has lost her husband and is suspected of killing her. She skips town and avoids the police. Hers is a bittersweet ending too. She never meant to kill her husband, but she did mean to get away from him to be with the person she really loves…an affair which her very own husband encouraged.
Rodney, Molly’s gay best friend, is finally with a man who is proud to tell the world he is in a relationship with a gay person. Never mind if Rodney’s boyfriend’s flourishing movie career is going down the toilet by admitting he is gay.
Do you watch The Starter Wife?
I was a bit underwhelmed about how the second season went. It probably had something to do with the character changes and I didn’t like how some of the story lines played out (did they change writers, too?). It still proves to be a good one though, better than most shows running right now (in this crappy season? It sure is better!)
