They Have Found Young Lily Van Der Woodsen

Published by Rachel under Primetime Drama Edit This

The planned Gossip Girl spin off on Lily Van Der Woodsen’s life as a young woman is slowly taking shape. They have, as of this week, found the girl who will play young Lily and she is none other than Brittany Snow.

Brittany Snow

The spin off will feature Lily as a rebellious teenager in the 80’s. And Brittany, who is a big fan of the original series, is thrilled to play her. What the actress also looks forward to are the fashionable 80’s clothes she will get to wear on the set.

Brittany has been seen in movies like “Hairspray” and “John Tucker Must Die”.

The spin off will first air as an episode in Gossip Girl on its May 11th broadcast.

Nurse Carol Returns on ER

Published by Rachel under Primetime Drama Edit This

Nurse Carol ER It’s been years since Nurse Carol left the hospital….have you been missing her? Nurse Carol is, of course, the character Julianna Marguilies played on ER for about five years. She was an integral part of the show, until she left to pursue a different career direction.

With the show closing this season, many of its main characters have committed to coming back for at least one episode.

Julianna Marguilies actually had no intention of returning. Except that his small screen partner on the series, George Clooney, have expressed he will do an episode.

The actress said —

“I said from the beginning I would come back if George came back. But I was pretty sure George wasn’t going to come back. It felt as though a lifetime had happened since then… (but) nothing had happened since then… Half the crew is still there, God bless them. We were all family. It was like coming home.”

And what a reunion it will be.

Their characters, the nurse and the doctor, are reportedly blissfully married with twin kids. Cute huh?

The actress further said that their brief return will be hush-hush and they will not use this chance to milk the show for promotions.

“We wanted it quiet because neither George nor I wanted to sit on talk shows getting people to watch the final episode of E.R… It’s the last thing George needs

Their ER episode is expected to air sometime April.

I haven’t been watching the series since the main characters left, but for sure, I will be tuning to them in April!

Don’t Forget Tonight’s Privileged Season Finale

Published by Rachel under Primetime Comedy Edit This

Freshman series Privileged ends tonight, on it’s 18th episode. I’ve been enjoying the light drama and comedy of this show so much, I am hoping it gets renewed for a second season run.

The finale episode is entitled “All About A Brand New You” and while it may allude to the changes lead character, Megan Smith, is going through in the personal and romantic department, the rest of the characters are also going to have to get through changes in their own lives.

For instance, Rose and Sage will be spending their Spring Breaks separately for the first time. The twins’ personal relationships with their boyfriends will also have its own dramas and issues to deal with. Marco, Megan’s best friend in the Baker estate is about to get married to his lifepartner and Megan’s father is struggling with issues about her mother yet again.

Here is the sneak peek to Privileged’s season finale tonight:

Quitting Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice

Published by Rachel under Primetime Drama Edit This

After months of wondering whether I should give it up or stay put because of Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), I have finally decided that last week was gonna be my last week of watching Grey’s Anatomy….and its sister show Private Practice (which I actually didn’t even bother watching then).

Grey’s Anatomy

The show is heading nowhere. No, wait a minute, the show is heading somewhere that does not make any sense anymore. Last week’s killer was Derek’s sudden breakdown — killing his patient, making mistakes with the procedure and becoming involved with Sloane in a brawl. What lead Derek to do all that? Was he not having the best day previously, excited about proposing to Meredith? Where did the stress come from? It just doesn’t make sense anymore.

So, I am finally giving it up.

My reason for sticking around (Dr. Hunt) isn’t even being give justifiable storylines. There really is no reason to stick around anymore.

Amy Smart and Jenna Elfman in New TV Shows

I have always loved watching Amy Smart. She has this girl next door/America’s sweetheart quality to her. Jenna Elfman, on the other hand, is someone who is so comfortable with comedy, it’s fun watching her.

Now, these two women are set to star in their own series slated to unveil this coming fall season.

Amy Smart has been tapped to play Cate on See Cate Run, a drama series about a young and intelligent attorney who will soon try and run as the future female President of the United States. Her show will be running on ABC.

Jenna Elfman is going to star in another comedy series, Accidentally on Purpose, about a woman who becomes pregnant after  a fling and goes to make for herself a very unconventional family. Accidentally will be seen on CBS.

I believe these two programs will be on my watchlist next.

Edie is a Goner

Published by Rachel under Primetime Drama Edit This

Nicolette Sheridan has been with Desperate Housewives from the very beginning. Last year, rumors of her leaving the show was actually downplayed saying it was just as good as that —- rumors.

But this past week, news of her character being killed off in the finale have become louder and louder.  And more recently, ABC executives have announced that her character, the seductress Edie Britt, will actually be taken off the program.

Sources say, her character will be killed off, with no chance of returning. The writers of the show insist that writing off the Edie character was essential to the show’s progress.

The decision to do this seems to be okay with the actress as it was reported there were no hard feelings.

What Will Tara’s 4th Personality Be?

Published by Rachel under Primetime Drama Edit This

United States Of Tara

Anybody else watching United States of Tara on Showtime? If you have been tuning to it the last month, then you should have already met all of her personalities —- Alice, Buck (who is a guy) and T. My favorite would have to be T because she can relate to the kids the best, being a teenager personality herself.

According to E! Online though, Tara is getting a new personality very soon. This has been confirmed by the creator of Tara herself, Diablo Cody, who says there could be other alters and a fourth personality may be springing up. This new character should be revealed at the end of the latest episode airing in the next two weeks.

Who do you suppose will it be and what will Tara’s fourth alter be like? I’m guessing it’s someone older, a senior citizen?

Joanna Garcia Dating New Co-Star

Published by Rachel under TV Gal Pal News Edit This

Joanna Garcia Robert Buckley

Anybody watching Privileged?

A new character portrayed by Robert Buckley  (from Lipstick Jungle) was introduced the other week, serving as Megan Smith’s editor (the character played by Joanna Garcia). I don’t know the kind of relationship they will be having, whether it’s going to remain professional or will progress to something romantic. But in real life, it seems the two have already gotten along so well, reports say that they have started dating.

Sources on the set say the two were cuddly-cuddly a few days before Valentine’s and they looked very cute together.

Joanna has confirmed in a BCBG Fashion Show that she was indeed seeing someone but refused to name the person.

So, what do you think? They look great together, no?

Terminator/Dollhouse Match Up Did Not Work

Published by Rachel under Primetime Drama Edit This

DollhouseInspite of the efforts at Fox, it seems this match-up with Terminator and Dollhouse is not going to work longterm. Here is the ratings for last week’s episode, which was the return of Terminator from hiatus and the season premiere of Dollhouse:

 8-9 PM

Ghost Whisperer (CBS) — 10.35M
Wife Swap (ABC) — 4.27M
Howie Do It (NBC) — 3.93M
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Fox) — 3.71M
Everybody Hates Chris/The Game (The CW) — 1.45M

9-10 PM

Flashpoint (CBS) — 8.86M
Supernanny (ABC) — 6.1M
Dollhouse (Fox) — 4.72M
Friday Night Lights (NBC) — 3.46M
13: Fear Is Real (The CW) — .95M

Terminator, a sophomore series hoping to get a big boost and a renewal, had a disappointing week, considering that it used to average around 5Million viewers before it went on a hiatus.

Dollhouse, on the other hand, seems to have done better. Except that the ratings indicated the all time lowest premiere results for any new show this season, following NBC’s Crusoe (which has already been canceled if I remember correctly.)
