When Veronica Mars got canceled on air some two years ago, there really was a good number of solid followers upset over it. The show was taken off air because it didn’t meet expectations when it came to the ratings, but the show, surprisingly have gained quite a loyal following even after its end. This loyal followers are now hoping the planned movie version gets made.
And it looks like, it is finally happening.
The news about a Veronica Mars movie comes from the creator himself, Rob Thomas, who today told EW that he is pitching it to the studios already. Although, according to Thomas, writing the movie is the least of the problems. He already has ideas. The biggest obstacle would have to be —- if there is any studio willing to bank on this project. Rob Thomas hopes to approach Warner Bros first.
“They will want to consider [the pitch], look at some numbers — whatever it is people on the business side do — and then they’ll give me some sort of response. Then, if they want to move forward, there’s the deal-making that’ll need to go on.”
Are you one of those hoping this movie does get made?

I’m beginning to understand what the producers of this show were saying about 24 getting a reboot. Everything about it is quite old, as this is Day 7 and we fans are pretty used to the whole idea of the show. But everything about it is new again, too.
We now have the new team (FBI instead of CTU), the new office (bright and light FBI Office instead of dim CTU), the lady president (instead of men presidents the entire series since this) and the surprise of it all, the female FBI agent, Renee Walker (Annie Wersching), who surprisingly moves and thinks like Jack Bauer. And you know what? I am loving her.
Producers of the show have described her character as this —
“She is somebody who has probably pressed up against the limitations of what’s been allowed [according to the law]. Her soul is in balance is the question. Is it worth doing whatever’s necessary at the personal price it extracts?”
Doesn’t that sound like how one would describe Jack Bauer, too?
More than once in the last 5 hours (or 5 episodes), she has disregarded her boss, followed up on her hunch and went ahead and executed her own brand of justice with a suspect. She is what’s giving us what Jack cannot give now that Jack is no longer at CTU.
Last we viewers have seen of her is she was being buried alive by Jack and Tony. And knowing how this show goes, she will live and then walk as if without a scratch or trauma. The interesting part is in knowing how she’ll do it.

Comedian Amy Poehler was on temporary leave of absence following her giving birth to their first child (with husband Will Arnett). She returned to SNL last week, surprising many people. But alas, it was only a short-lived return for last Saturday, Amy bid the show one last time during the Weekend Uplate segment.
Watch her emotional speech here .
Amy Poehler joined the sketch comedy program in 2001 and has become one of its most funniest and most successful female comedians ever. She leaves the show in order to work on her very own half-hour comedy program which should begin its airing next year.
I will be missing her on SNL, but I can’t definitely wait to watch her new show soon.

Tina Fey has a scar on her face, near her lip… do you ever notice that? I didn’t realize it actually is a real scar because it comes and it goes. I thought at one point, it was make-up; like it was part of a story arc she was doing on 30 Rock.
Tina Fey never talks about this scar. But her husband, Jeff Richmond, explains where that scar came from in an interview with Vanity Fair —
“It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen.”
This incident happened when Tina was only about five years old!
I wonder what that person must be thinking seeing Tina Fey now?
Speaking of Vanity Fair….check out Tina Fey’s magazine cover! This is Vanity Fair’s January 2009 issue, which should hit stands later this month.

Well, okay…she’s not really back on Friends. More like back on the Friends set, when she came to the Ellen show last Thursday. Lisa Kudrow and Ellen Degeneres visited her former show’s set…
Watch this video and the rest of her Ellen guest appearance, where she does improv with the daytime talk show host:
While Lisa has a lot of movies lined-up and is booked way until 2009, she also manages to appear in an online web series for Lexus. You can watch this over here. Still looking really good at 45 years old, eh? And I think she lost a few pounds, last I saw her on TV. I wonder is she’s ever considering going back to it (television)?

Her TV brother David Schwimmer (Ross Geller) has been into directing for awhile now, but it’s the first time for Courtney Cox to try directing in the short film called “The Monday Before Thanksgiving”.
The 19-minute drama film is part of Glamour Magazine’s Reel Moments, an annual event that has Glamour readers submitting their stories and tapping stars to direct these into films.
Courtney Cox, who is famous for her role as Monica Geller in the widely popular show Friends, said she loves what she has done and will do it again in a heartbeat. She told the audience at the event she’s “now available for directing.”
Those who came to watch included former friends star Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry (who played her soulmate and husband on the TV series).
Watch as Courtney talks about this tiny but really satisfactory project in this interview with Entertainment Tonight .

I think I have made mention of this fact plenty of times: I love Tina Fey!
Right now, she is definitely at the peak of her career:
- Her show just won an Emmy Award, both for Best Comedy and Best Comedy Actress.
- She has just signed a $6Million book deal, which is a huge thing.
- Once 30 Rock returns she will have a lot of A-lists guest on it.
- She is the reason for Saturday Night Live’s rating climb, with her Sarah Palin impression and Sarah Palin loves what she’s doing.
What else is she into? Have you seen this ad with Martin Scorsese?
Tina Fey is on the fast train to the A-List Club. This ad just about confirms it. If there’s any woman so successful on TV right now, it’s probably her.
But the thing about being on top? It’s a long and high fall to the bottom. I hope Tina Fey is managing her new success very well and perhaps slows down and smell the roses a little bit, yeah?

Despite failing ratings since it came back for its second season, Private Practice is actually getting better.
For starters, I’m seeing the old Addison back. When this show began last year, Addison and her fellow doctors at Oceanside behaved like horny teenagers. Now though, the confident, take charge women I came to adore since Grey’s Anatomy Season 2 is back.
And she’s even more stunning and gorgeous as ever.
And the stories of Private Practice have improved, too. Two episodes into the second season, and I find the show has become more even. When the writers said during promos that this was going to be a season where they will explore the moral side of their medical cases, they weren’t kidding about it. The storylines are really complicated and the execution of it? not perfect but still better than what they did last year.
I am beginning to love this show again.
Welcome back, Addison. I have missed you so!
