I have always loved watching Amy Smart. She has this girl next door/America’s sweetheart quality to her. Jenna Elfman, on the other hand, is someone who is so comfortable with comedy, it’s fun watching her.
Now, these two women are set to star in their own series slated to unveil this coming fall season.
Amy Smart has been tapped to play Cate on See Cate Run, a drama series about a young and intelligent attorney who will soon try and run as the future female President of the United States. Her show will be running on ABC.
Jenna Elfman is going to star in another comedy series, Accidentally on Purpose, about a woman who becomes pregnant after a fling and goes to make for herself a very unconventional family. Accidentally will be seen on CBS.
I believe these two programs will be on my watchlist next.

Anybody watching Privileged?
A new character portrayed by Robert Buckley (from Lipstick Jungle) was introduced the other week, serving as Megan Smith’s editor (the character played by Joanna Garcia). I don’t know the kind of relationship they will be having, whether it’s going to remain professional or will progress to something romantic. But in real life, it seems the two have already gotten along so well, reports say that they have started dating.
Sources on the set say the two were cuddly-cuddly a few days before Valentine’s and they looked very cute together.
Joanna has confirmed in a BCBG Fashion Show that she was indeed seeing someone but refused to name the person.
So, what do you think? They look great together, no?

It’s only the second month of the year, but how many pregnancies have I reported on this site? The women of Hollywood are clearly very productive, there’s another TV actress heavy with child. She is none other than Sarah Shahi, who appears as Dani Reese on the crime drama, Life (airs on NBC).
According to E! Online, the actress is already about four months pregnant, although there have been no confirmation from her camp yet.
Will Sarah’s pregnancy affect her role on the show, considering her character, a very active cop, is in many scenes with lead star Damian Lewis?
The showrunners of Life are willing to cut Sarah some slack by shaving off a few hours of work figuratively and literally. Dani Reese will be delegated to a lot of desk work, which will make her pregnancy less obvious as they film her scenes. This would mean less workload for Sarah, as she needs to all the R & R she can get while carrying her baby full term.

Highly anticipating this Lisa Kudrow produced Reality TV show for NBC called Who Do You Think You Are?
Set to begin on Mondays at 8 PM, April 20th, the program is actually based on a British series. The show will feature big named celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker and Susan Sarandon, as they try to trace back their family trees…which sounds like fun, sentimental and maybe highly emotional. NBC says there is no other program quite like Think today and promises this to be personal but entertaining.
Lisa Kudrow won’t be in it, I suppose. But she is a big part of this show as the executive producer.
I wonder though if she will have her former Friends star in it, too. That would be lovely to watch!

On The Secret Life of An American Teenager, Molly Ringwald plays such a phenomenal woman who is still trying to get past her husband’s affair, coping with her Mother’s alzheimer’s and dealing with her 15-year old daughter’s pregnancy.
In real life, Molly Ringwald is a happily married 40 year old woman to 33 year old Panio Gianopoulos, with the cutest five year old daughter named Mathilda, and is due to give birth to her second child…or children. The family is having twins this coming August. Real life it seems is complete.
Her real-life pregnancy though won’t be incorporated to the show. I do not think her character, Anne Juergens, could handle any more in her life right now.

Consistent award nominee, Rachel Griffiths, who is 40 years old, is expecting baby number three with husband Andrew Taylor, their spokesperson revealed to the press over the weekend. The actress, who hails from Australia, already has two children — daughter Adelaide Rose, 3 years old and first born son, Banjo Patrick, who is 5-years-old. Adelaide was named for the Australian region, while Banjo was named after Australian poet, Andrew Barton “Banjo” Paterson.
Rachel Griffiths currently stars on Brothers and Sisters as the eldest Walker child who is self-less and kind of a take charge sister. It is not known whether her pregnancy will be written in the show. Her character, Sarah, is currently without a love interest.

I only caught a few minutes of American Idol last night but I think I got to the best part where this bikini-clad lady went to try at the auditions (and got in! What was that about?). But that’s not who I wanna talk about today. I wanna set my sights on the new judge, the one people say is Simon Cowell’s match — Kara DioGuardi.
Since I didn’t see much of her then, the only thing that marked on my mind as I was watching her was that she had a pretty spectacular voice. When she sang a few notes from that piece the bikini-clad lady sang, she did better. I knew she wrote songs. But she sings good enough to do an album herself.
What do you think of her? Was she quite the meanie last night or was she another Paula Abdul?

Betty lost the men in her life…now, she must prepare to lose her best friend.
According to E! Scottish actress Ashley Jensen, who plays Betty’s best friend Christina on Ugly Betty, has asked to leave the show. But sources say that while this is what she wants, the show will not completely scrap her off the picture. There are still plans to have her reappear in the fourth season (next fall), possibly. Only not as a series regular.
In the current season, her character has been seen less and less on television. If not because she is carrying the spawn of Wilhelmina (and they had to play that story out in three to four episodes) Christina would have been less visible a long time ago. I think I’d understand why she would want to leave.
Would you want a Christina leave Betty?
Edited to add news update: Ashley Jensen’s reps deny she is quitting.

The awards season has kicked in last week and tonight, the Golden Globes will be giving away their trophies to the best and the brightest of 2008. I’m not too keen on watching this year’s telecast though because the TV category seems less exciting. The movie category, though, may have a few surprises.
I earlier wrote about my picks from the nominees, zeroing in on women categories and my guesses still stand.
What I am anticipating for are the acceptance speeches and well, of course, looking at celebrities and their gorgeous clothes.
Will you be watching the Golden Globes tonight? Which show and which actors/actress are you rooting for?
